Ernie Sabella is the voice of Pumbaa, and yes, he is indeed a great character in the film, as is Nathen Lane who provides the voice of Timon....They make such a great team!

All good animation at its best is alagory, for us as human beings. The story connects iteself, to primal stories. You're entering into that world thats always delt with large, basic principals, and basical obstacals.
The harder you try to make it more orthenic, and deeper, and true, the more it will be like the great myths that have endured until now.
These are fundimental elements of the human relevence; betray, redemption, fitting in, family, cummunity. There was a kind of epic, or religious repic quality to it, something like Ben hur.
Old testerment tales like Josep and Moses, theay're great old stories and there's a reaosn that they've stayed around for a couple tousand years.
We say Moses saw the burning bush and got knowledge from it, why can't Simba see the burning bush in the form of Mufasa, his father, and get his inspiration from that?
The lion king was first described as "Bambi in Africa with Halmet thrown in." So Bamblet. Originally Scar was a rouge lion that didnt have anything to do with the pride. But filmmaklkers thought it would be more interesting if the threat came from within.
With the brother being royalty and the story based on a royal family, aspects of Hamley began to show. The movie was said to have the theme "tragic yet hopeful."
There is also a "to be or not to be" scene in the movie. The scene when Simba had just been visited by Mufusa and was left not knowing not just what he should do, but also who he was.
